DE ROSA Laura
Laura De Rosa is currently the Head of Research and Development, Cell and Gene Therapy at Holostem, an Italian’s biotech devoted to development, manufacture, registration, and distribution of Advanced Therapies Medicinal Products (ATMPs) based on cultures of epithelial stem cells both for cell and gene therapy. She is leading Holostem’s R&D projects for skin rare diseases, spanning from pre-clinical to clinical phase. Before joining the industry, she worked at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and at the University of Naples (Italy) in the field of rare genetic skin diseases. During her translational studies, Laura gave a fundamental contribution to the life-saving regeneration, using autologous genetically corrected epidermal grafts, of the entire, fully functional epidermis, on a 7-year-old child suffering from a life-threatening form of JEB. From 2015 her activities are dedicated to enhancing and developing ex-vivo stem cell-based gene therapy for Epidermolysis Bullosa and other genodermatosis diseases (such as Ichthyosis and TP63 related syndromes). Laura is directly involved as lead project management in several clinical trials on rare genodermatosis diseases.
