Dr. Edvardson is a consultant and researcher at the Hadassah University Hospital of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His special interests are the genetic underpinnings of rare inherited neurological disorders. The main focus of his work has been to integrate the novel genetic tools such as Next Generation Sequencing into the routine care of patients and bring those techniques to the bedside.
Dr. Edvardson completed his fellowship in Hadassah in 2006 and has since then worked there as a consultant at the Neuropediatric unit. He has been part of the neurogenetic team, headed by Prof. Orly Elpeleg, which has discovered several novel genes responsible for rare neurogenetic disorders. Further collaborations with German, Japanese, American and Swedish scientists have been established in the process to elucidate the pathophysiology of the mutations identified.
