LAZARUS Gal

Dr. Gal Lazarus is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he leads the Precision Assessment and Intervention Lab. His research focuses on intensive longitudinal assessment, digital phenotyping, and the development of personalized methods for understanding and improving functioning in neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions.
He is also the founder and chair of the Foundation for ARID1B Research, a parent-led rare-disease organization working to accelerate therapeutic development and clinical-trial readiness for ARID1B-related disorder (ARID1B-RD). In this role, he coordinates collaborations among families, academic researchers, clinicians, biotechnology companies, and other rare-disease organizations, with a particular focus on preclinical therapeutic programs, patient registries, natural history research, and meaningful clinical outcomes.
Dr. Lazarus also coordinates an international, multicenter natural history study of ARID1B-related disorder funded through the European Joint Programme on Rare Diseases. His work is informed by his combined experience as a researcher, rare-disease organization leader, and father of a child with ARID1B-RD.
