PICHON Chantal

Chantal Pichon, a Full Professor at the University of Orléans (France), holds the Innovation Chair of Excellence at the Institut Universitaire de France (Paris) and is elected as member of the French Academia of Technologies. Since 2022 and 2026 respectively, she has been heading the Technological Research Accelerator dedicated to mRNA technologies of Inserm and the Innovative therapies and Nanomedicine lab, a joint Inserm–University of Orléans research unit. She has built a scientific career at the crossroads of several disciplines by developing breakthrough technologies in the field of non-viral nucleic acid delivery. Chantal Pichon has over 20 years of expertise in developing delivery systems for nucleic acid-based therapies based on chemical vectors and ultrasound/microbubble-assisted delivery. Her work has led to patented nucleic acids delivery systems and a breakthrough mRNA production platform using engineered yeast, offering a low-cost alternative to current methods.
